Jane Irish's 'Antipodes Vietnam Peru 1' in 'A Feeling With'

Jane Irish's 2017 ceramic work Antipodes Vietnam Peru 1 is featued in A Feeling With, a new exhibition at the Tang Museum at Skidmore College. Irish's work is made of low-fire whiteware china, paint luster, and underglaze, while the wide shape is symbolic of the conflict-ridden landscape of Vietnam and the natural amphitheater settings in which the American anti-war protest movement chose to rally and march.

A Feeling of With is three explorations of the self in relation. Here—in the artworks presented across three galleries—relation is subject and structure. Whether through language, nature, or mathematics, these collections-based exhibitions encourage us to consider how we relate to ourselves, to one another, and to the world.
