Locks Gallery http://www.locksgallery.com/rss.php Stay up to date with exhibitions, news and press from Locks Gallery. Founded in 1968, Locks Gallery represents an international group of critically respected contemporary artists working in a wide variety of disciplines. The gallery exhibition program presents new works by mid-career artists while introducing the work of emerging artists to a national audience. Survey and thematic exhibitions of work by essential artists of the 20th-century including Louise Bourgeois, Robert Motherwell, Louise Nevelson and George Segal, are regular highlights of the gallery exhibition program. Organized by the gallery working in concert with the artist and/or their estate, these exhibitions offer an opportunity to view an insightful selection of rarely seen works in a museum quality setting. Since its founding, the gallery has maintained a vital relationship with Philadelphia artists, building a national audience for the work of artists such as Edna Andrade, Thomas Chimes, Jane Irish, Eileen Neff, and Elizabeth Osborne. Exhibitions are accompanied by full-color catalogues featuring scholarly essays by leading critics and art historians. The gallery has continually guided individuals and museums with collecting and offers expertise with the resale of important works of art. A longtime member of the ADAA (Art Dealers Association of America) and subscribing to the highest measure of connoisseurship, scholarship, and curatorial practice in its presentation of contemporary art, Locks Gallery maintains a standard of professional and artistic excellence.
